Campaign: SOSC

The primary event for Special Olympics Southern California is the annual Summer Games hosted at Long Beach State University in Long Beach, Calif. The event features more than 1,000 athletes and draws more than 10,000 volunteers, spectators, families and vendors over a two-day span of competition and inclusion. Here is the two month social media calendar designed to promote not only the games but to promote the many opportunities available to those in the Southern California community. Check it out here: 2018 SOSC Social Media Plan – May/June 2018.

Here is some of the actual posts from that campaign on the Instagram feed (@SOSoCal). The posts include samples that show promotions using the Summer Games branding. Also included are posts from the event as well as posts promoting the many other events that run in conjunction with Summer Games (including the Law Enforcement Torch Run Final Leg, Rafer Johnson Breakfast With Champions and corporate sponsorship with Albertsons, Vons and Pavilions):

As mentioned with Summer Games, a big part to the success of the Special Olympics movement of inclusion and acceptance are partnerships. Working with organizations like the Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers, as well as companies like Bank of America and Albertsons, Vons and Pavilions was important in the cross promotion of the athletes and the movement. Here are some social media posts through Twitter on those partnerships, both through the @SOSoCal feed or those curated through the organizations thanks to the partnerships:
