The primary event for Special Olympics Southern California is the annual Summer Games hosted at Long Beach State University in Long Beach, Calif. The event features more than 1,000 athletes and draws more than 10,000 volunteers, spectators, families and vendors over a two-day span of competition and inclusion. As mentioned with Summer Games, a big part to the success of the Special Olympics movement of inclusion and acceptance are partnerships. Working with organizations like the Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Rams and Los Angeles Chargers, as well as companies like Bank of America and Albertsons, Vons and Pavilions was important in the cross promotion of the athletes and the movement.
