The annual Purim Festival at the Stroum Jewish Community Center was highlight of the calendar year. Brining families throughout our community to the J to celebrate the annual holiday. In 2020, it was the first event cancelled due to the pandemic.

It wasn’t until 2023 it made its full return. We were nervous at what the response would be to coming back to gathering together in a festival atmosphere.

A primary goal within our new strategic plan and vision is to expand our reach in the greater Seattle area, impacting more families and “offer experiences that amplify profound Jewish connections for every generation.” This event allows us to do that as we partner with more than 20 Jewish organization in the region to make this the main Purim event in the area.

More than 1,000 people came to the Community Purim Festival, and according to the records we can find, it was a record for the event. The 1,000+ people resulted in more than 378 registrations, with more than 150 logged as new families within our system.

For all of our events, we create a “marketing one-sheet.” This outlines each piece of an event, including the who, what, when, where and why; along with audience demographics and targeted interests. Here is the one-sheet for the Purim Festival >>

Based on the one-sheet, we put into action all aspects of promoting the event. Here is quick outline of what we did:
